PDP ready to capture Imo, Nigeria - Party chairman - Mhiz Rebecca - 08-10-2016
Sir Nnamdi Anyaehie, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP), Imo state chapter, promised to bring all aggrieved party
members together.
The Imo state party chairman stated that the move was necessary
for the progress and development of the PDP in the state, as well
as all over the country.
While speaking on Monday, August 8 at the swearing in of the
party’s new executive committee members at the party’s
headquarters on Okigwe Road at Owerri, the Imo State capital,
Anyaehie said the number one task of the new executive
committee was to bring all aggrieved members of the PDP in Imo
under one umbrella.
The state chairman said that would ensure that “PDP wins the
Imo governorship and other elections in the state in 2019.
The chairman showed confidence that the challenges facing the
PDP at the national level would be resolved to the satisfaction of
all warring parties, so that the party could become much stronger.
Anyaehie observed that the job ahead was much, he however
believed that the challenges were surmountable, only through the
full cooperation of all members.
The PDP state chairman praised all party members in Imo for
their steadfastness, despite intimidation and various forms of
oppression from the Rochas Okorocha-led administration in the
state.
Furthermore, Anyaehie praised Senator Hope Uzodimma in
particular, for his unwavering material and monetary assistance
which has led to the continued existence of the PDP in Imo.
The Imo state branch of the PDP had conducted its ward, local
government areas and state congresses earlier before the annulled
Saturday, May 21 national convention of the party in Port-
Harcourt, the River state capital.
On Tuesday, August 9, the PDP was thrown into mourning, as one
of its former state party chairmen, Chief Godspower U Ake, was
pronounced dead in a teaching hospital in Lagos.
