Chelsea try to gazump transfer rivals
Chelsea have made a late bid to snatch Axel Witsel, writes Neil
Moxley in the Sunday People.
They are hoping to beat Liverpool and Everton to the Belgium
international Witsel ’s signature after talks stalled this week.
The London Blues have been waiting on the sidelines after People
Sport last week revealed interest by the two Merseyside clubs in the
Zenit St Petersburg midfielder.
However, while they have dithered, Roman Abramovic has thrown
Chelsea’s weight behind a deal.
