Driving tips for new beginners - Mhiz Rebecca - 03-14-2018

I get that the jitters are bound to occur when learning to
drive for the first time. Nervousness is normal but if it is
not controlled, it can be unsafe for you. So, instead of
thinking about driving as a dangerous activity, think of it
as a fun one. The first tip to be a good driver is learning
to control your emotions by being calm.
Get familiar with a car before driving it. Carefully read and
understand the manuals so that you know where all the
controls and switches are.
Practice good driving posture in order to reduce quick
fatigue. All your senses should be at work while you are
on the steering and not just your vision. Your sense of
smell, your sense of hearing among others will help you
avoid risks involved in crashes.
Road signs do matter; you need to know them and their
interpretations to escape fines. Remember, ignorance is
not an excuse.
Reduce distractions to the barest minimum.
Finally, have the mentality that all drivers are crazy so
that it prepares you for anything you see on the road.
My friend would go as far as saying: “believe that all
drivers are highly insane and you are the only sane
person on the road”. Practice driving defensively by
keeping an eye on the practices of other drivers around
you.
