2019: Use your PVC’s as weapons - Sultan tells youths - Mhiz Rebecca - 08-22-2018

Youths in Nigeria have been urged by the Sultan of
Sokoto, HRH Muhammadu Sa'ad Abubakar, to
ensure the success of their parties and candidates
in the forthcoming elections, by using their
permanent voters’ cards.
He gave the advice in a message to Muslims on the
occasion of Ed-el-Adhan, on Tuesday, August 21,
Daily Trust reports.

NAIJ.com gathers that the Sultan also urged those
who love President Muhammadu Buhari and
Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, to get their
PVC’s, so as to ensure success for both men.
He said: "I urge you to obtain your PVC’s; as without it,
you would not vote for your favourite party and
candidates in the forthcoming elections.
"We should see our PVC’s as religious and weapons; not
the kind of weapons given to our youths by
unscrupulous politicians to cause mayhem in our
societies.
“If you love Buhari, the only way you can ensure his
success is obtaining your PVC’s; and same thing with
Governor Tambuwal and other aspirants."
The royal father insisted that no election is worth a
precious life of any Nigerian; and urged youths to
desist from any act of thuggery or violence.
He maintained that traditional rulers have no
favourite party or candidate other than the choices
of their subjects, and urged politicians and their
parties not to see politics as a do-or-die affair
because it is God who gives power to whoever he
wishes, whenever he wishes to.
He said: "We should therefore play the game by its
rules. We should avoid making inflammatory and
divisive statements in our politicking. And after the
election, whoever God gives the office, we should
support him to succeed.”
