22 persons including three lecturers 3 UNIBEN lecturers die in road crash - Adesewa - 12-13-2016 Authorities of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) have confirmed the death of three of its lecturers in a road crash at Abudu village in Orhiomwon Local Government Area of Edo state. The fatal accident which occurred last weekend, claimed over 22 persons including three lecturers in the Faculty of Pharmacy. The lecturers whose names were given as Prof. Lucky Okunrobo, Head of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Dr. Godwin Joseph, Acting Head Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Dr. Saturday Idemudia, Assistant Lecturer Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology, were said to be returning from Awka in Anambra State when they got involved in the accident. A statement by Public Relation Officer of the Institution, Micheal Osasuyi, said the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faraday Orunmwense, expressed shock over the death of the three lecturers and commiserated with families of the deceased.
