Since the return of democratic system of governance in the year 1999 into this country which is largely mirrored after the United States electoral system; the National Assembly which comprises of the upper (The Senate) and lower chambers (House of Representative) has been enmeshed in one form of scandals, controversies, shady deals just to name a few which I consider an insult to our intelligence as people who seems incapable of governing ourselves and by extension a gazing stock in the eyes of the International Community.

First it was Salisu Buhari who was accused of certificate forgery at the 4th assembly, he was investigated and his fate was determined. Now it’s Dino Melaye, a senator representing kogi west senatorial district in another certificate scandal. How far can go in this path as giant and hope of the continent called Africa?
