Ex-Nigeria internationals led by Victor Ikpeba
showed their stuffs by defeating entertainment
stars led by hip hop artiste, Dapo Oyebanjo
popularly called D’banj 2-1 in the celebrity match
at this year’s edition of the Copa Lagos Beach
Soccer Tournament.
Team D’Banj scored first, but the ex-
internationals (also called Team Ikpeba) rallied
from one goal down to snatch the much
anticipated victory in the game.
Former AS Monaco forward, Victor Ikbeba
missed a penalty kick in the interval, but
redeemed his image by scoring the winning goal
in the second quarter.
In the first game of the day, Pepsi Football
Academy of Lagos defeated tournament favourites
Enyimba of Aba 6-5 to brighten the chances of
making impact in this year’s edition of the fun
filled beach soccer showpiece.
Other important dignitaries led by His Excellency
Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode,
Lagos State Sports Commission chairman,
Ayodeji Tinubu, among others.
Meanwhile, some ex-Eagles stars present at the
event include, Victor Ikpeba, Victor Agali, Alloy
Agu, Mutiu Adepoju, Waidi Akanni among several
others.
