
Ekiti State government has warned the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS ) , Zone D against staging anti- government rally in the state .
The Deputy Governor , Prof . Olusola Eleka , gave the warning yesterday when he addressed students of tertiary institutions in state .
According to him, it is illegal for anybody to come from outside the state to protest and disrupt the peace being enjoyed by the residents .
NANS zonal chairman and treasurer had in a statement , disclosed plans to stage a mass protest , if the government fails to address the case of lecturers of the Ekiti State University ( EKSU ) , who are currently on strike .
Olusola said : “ There is this information that some people who are non -stakeholders in education in Ekiti are coming as a result of the illegal support that they enjoined from the opposition political parties.
“ They are planning to protest against this government . But I am highly pleased that you have shown to the whole world that you don ’t have any problem with the government.
“ To those who are planning to protest against the government, let me warned them that it is illegal and unethical to disrupt our state , even as they don ’t have the consent of the students’ leaders in Ekiti.
He disclosed that the issues raised by the zone D of NANS had been resolved .
He explained: “ Those who had been rusticated from the higher institutions , but are still parading themselves as students ’ leaders are the ones being used by the opposition to cause crisis in the state .
“ Many of the issues have been resolved ; the delay in salary payment was caused by bad economy under Preisident Muhammadu Buhari.
