
A kidnapped chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP ) in Ekiti State , Kayode Oni , has regained his freedom .
Unknown gunmen had last week , kidnapped Oni , who is the Financial Secretary of the party .
He was abducted on Saturday at a location between Efon and Erio on his way to Aramoko , the headquarters of Ekiti West Local Government Area .
The PDP chieftain was returning from Efon where he had officiated at the party ’s local government congress .
Oni ’ s abductors reportedly contacted family members and demanded a ransom of N30 million.
The state Publicity Secretary of the party , Mr . Jackson Adebayo confirmed the release yesterday .
Adebayo disclosed that Oni was set free by his abductors on Tuesday night .
He was however silent on whether the party , or the victim’ s family paid any ransom before he was released .
