The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), leaders in Ekiti State have condemned the action of the outgoing Governor Ayo Fayose for paying N3,000 each into the civil servants accounts on the eve of July 14 Governorship Poll, describing the governor’s action as a great insult.

The union leaders at joint press conference held in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday said it is rather ridiculous to them that the government that was owing workers as much as eight salaries could outsource N3,000 for electioneering.

Addressing on behalf of others union leaders, the Ekiti State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Ade Aladesanmi, also accused the outgoing government of hoarding information of the State’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

They spoke of how union leaders tried effortlessly to get relevant information relating to IGR.

“70 percent of information on IGR is concealed to the unions. I want to say that today we have been pushed to the wall and action could commence anytime from now.”
