A former member of the National Assembly and Peoples Democratic Party chieftain in Ekiti State , Bode Ola , was on Thursday received into the All Progressives Congress alongside a former member of the state House of Assembly , Segun Ola , and their supporters .

The former senator, who was Chairman of State Universal Basic Education Board under the administration of Mr Ayodele Fayose , and the former state lawmaker who served as member of the House of Assembly Service Commission, had earlier joined APC on Wednesday evening at Ward 6 in Ado Ekiti .
Ola , who spoke at a rally in the Okeyinmi area of Ado Ekiti where they were publicly received into the APC , said the impact of Governor Kayode Fayemi’ s administration on the state and its people attracted him to the APC .
He said , “ The way this administration has started revealed that they have the love of the masses at heart .
“ The policies they made in the education sector are legendary . I was in charge of SUBEB in the last administration , a sum of N3 . 5 bn was left untouched .
“ Within this short period of time , we can see how this administration has rightfully deployed those resources to boost our education sector . ”
On his part , the former state lawmaker said Fayemi’ s campaign slogan, “ Reclaiming our land and restoring our value, ” attracted him to the party .
He claimed that “ marauders ” who occupied leadership positions in the state between 2014 and 2018 misplaced the values of the land .
The state deputy governor, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi, who received the defectors , said , “ We are happy that Senator Bode Ola is back to our party and we welcome Segun Ola . Senator Ola has come back to where he belongs. These are men of reputable character , they came from a good family .
“We brought goodwill to Ekiti people , salaries are now paid as and when due and we have started clearing backlog of salaries owed by the previous administration . ”
