Kayode Fayemi, Ekiti State Governor-elect, has revealed his plans to probe the last four years of the state government under the leadership of Ayodele Fayose of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).While interacting with journalists after visiting President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa on Thursday, Fayemi said probing the outgoing tenure would be about avoiding the mistakes of the past rather than witch-hunting anyone.

Ekiti State Government has challenged the governor-elect, Dr. Kayode Fayemi to begin his probe of the Ayodele Fayose led government now instead of waiting till October 16 that he will be sworn in, saying; “it is obvious that he will be consumed in his vendetta mission and rather than grandstanding, Fayemi should first seek legitimacy for his stolen mandate. ”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has insisted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) purportedly altered the results of the Ekiti State governorship election.

The Peoples Democratic Party has threatened that it may not participate in the 2019 general elections unless it gets assurance that what happened in Ekiti State governorship election would not be repeated.

Founder of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church with headquarters in Lagos, Primate Ayodele Fayose, has chided the Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, over the defeat of the candidate of his party, Peoples Democratic Party, Prof. Olusola Kolapo, by the All Progressive Congress, APC flag bearer, Kayode Fayemi, in last Saturday’s poll, attributing Olusola’s loss to nemesis catching up with Fayose.
