Ekiti  State having emerged the latest champion in the table of National Examination Council NECO across Nigeria.   This is as a result of commitment of teachers and student respectively rather than as a result of a well lay down of a strong educational policy thrust of the Ekiti State government. 
Before an educational policy can manifest, certain things must be put in order.
  Firstly,   the government must provide necessary materials for the students if not for free but at a very cheaper price,  this necessary material include, free education for all, a healthy environment for learning, school uniforms, healthy food,  a reliable transport system,  necessary textbooks,  well inquiped libraries,  various educational programs and competitions etc 
 Secondly, the welfare of the teacher must be 100% looked into.  This include,  the payment of workers salary as at when due,  organizing various programs for the teachers to upgrade the existing teachers teaching skills and recruiting a well-qualified fresher's, teacher must be well disciplined,  granting teachers loan etc
 Thirdly, the welfare of the student must not be left out.  Although education begins from home.  i.e. the parent must play their own part,  they must set a strong foundation for the children to learn and digest what they have learnt.
The question is, who's educational policy thrust is working well for Ekiti educational sector? 
Well, the two administration has tried but not enough.  Both administrations have not showed 50% of commitment to Ekiti educational sector.
The teachers are not well cater for,  both administration owe not less than 2months or more pending salaries of teachers.
However,  none of the administration has taken a bold step to upgrade the teaching skills of the existing teachers nor recruited a well-qualified teachers into the system. Though Fayemi tried to upgrade teachers teaching skill by conducting exam but he failed to execute the idea.
Furthermore,  the environment is not yet conducive for a good learning, though the past administration renovated virtually all schools in Ekiti which was a good idea but a good educational system is beyond just a building, yet the world is transforming on daily bases.
On top of it all,  none of the administration has taken a bolder step to make education free for all  just like the time of Chief Obafemi Awolowo,  instead,  they over tax the students putting more burden on the parents.
Kudos to parents and teachers of Ekiti students for the job well-done undermining the situation if things in Ekiti State,  yet,  put in their best.  Also, Congratulations to all Ekiti people for the award of best in NECO Examination in 2015/2016. Ekiti people are expecting more from you.  God bless you, God bless Ekiti-State, God bless Nigeria.
