The Ekiti State Police Command has announced that his men are closing in on the culprits of the intrusion of Ido Ekiti police headquarters in Ido/Osi Local Government area on October 14, 2016 .
The shooters, numbering 40 , had on that day assaulted the police headquarters at around 7.30pm with hazardous devices and made a beeline for the armoury, where arms and ammo were accounted to have been trucked away.
A police controller who was on guard was slaughtered amid the egregious operation .
In any case, the Police had quickly denied that arms and ammo were trucked away amid the operation, saying those arms as of now been taken to the home office in Ado Ekiti amid a clean up operation requested by the Magistrate of Police, Mr Etop James.
Talking in Ado Ekiti on Saturday, the Command’s spokesman, ASP Alberto Adeyemi, said however none of the culprits of the terrible demonstration had been captured, but guaranteed that they will be captured soon.
Adeyemi said investigations have reached advanced stage enough pieces of information with regards to the whereabouts of the criminal group.
“This is a very unfortunate incident. But we are pleased with the level of investigations that have been conducted by our officers.
“We are getting enough clues and I can reliably inform you that we are closing in on them. I want to say that very soon, these criminals will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law”, he uncovered.
The PPRO pleaded with the inhabitants of Ekiti to constantly volunteer veracious data to the police to brace their knowledge assembling and provoke them into taking proactive activities to stem the tide of wrongdoing in the state.
